-2 Days

It is Saturday, we plan to leave Monday "oh dark hundred" and get to Virginia to see the Malloy's by dark.  We are packing today and generally getting ready to go.

Last night (Friday) June's sister Donna and her husband Bob hosted a bit of a Harley party at their house. We all showed up in our biking gear and talked about the rides we have taken and those we will (would like to)...it was a fun evening.

Since we are going to Daytona Beach I thought I should get some practice with women hanging all over me.....

Don't worry the girls had their fun too.

And yes,  I had to drive home.

Seriously, it was a fun evening. everyone behaved themselves  and it was very nice of Bob and Donna to get us together before we launch.

Back to packing....

About a week until departure.....Time to start getting serious.....

June and I attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for the last two years in a row. Last year was the 75th anniversary of the Sturgis Rally and we attended with June's twin sister Jean and her husband Ed Allen.  We met up with our good friend John Keaty and his cousin Bill Kratz in Sturgis and had a very nice time. (If you want to see our blog from that trip, follow the Link to 2015 Sturgis Blog)

Since we attended the 75th Anniversary of Sturgis, we felt compelled to attend the 75th Anniversary of Daytona Bike week. We have been to Daytona, but never bike week, so we don't know quite what to expect but are looking forward to it. It is a long way to drive and tow your motorcycle for just a few days, so of course we are going to combine the trip with visiting a few friends and family along the way. I created a map of all our potential stops and it is surprising how many friends and family we do have along the east coast. We obviously can't visit them all but hope to see more than a few.

Now we have to get serious about making a plan, getting out our RV and loading the Harley. Our winter in the Northeast has been mild to say the least, Lake Champlain froze for the first time this winter last weekend.

Time to go shine up the Harley......
